Ear flapping

Hi all. I noticed today that Percy’s scent gland was quite blocked so have him a bum bath to soften the gunk and I managed to get a bit off. I stupidly put the gunk on the side and he lent over and ate it. He started chewing a bit weirdly. Ever since I’ve notice that his left ear keeps flapping involuntarily. Do you think the two could be linked? I’ve never noticed him do this before. Am I over thinking? It happens every minute or so when he is resting and eating. Has anyone else had a pig with one flappy ear? Thank you

I think you are overthinking it! Please take a deep breath. The gunk will have gone long down the gullet and be harmless, if a bit gross for your human definition of what is edible.

The ear twitching is more likely connected with a mild irritation. Have a quick check whether something could be stuck in there although if it was serious, you would see your piggy shaking their head and pawing the ear, so no reason to panic.

Not like me to overthink Took him to the vets today and she had a good look in his ear and saw no crawlies but had prescribed an antimite dropper so we’ll see. I’m wondering if he has scratched it a bit too rigorously. Thanks for your reply x
