Hi I was playing with my Guinea pig Percy yesterday and noticed a lot of the boys food hadn't been eaten that I'd left the previous night at about 8pm the food hadn't gone at 4pm then again at 8pm I went in with more food Percy seemed to be acting odd nothing crazy just you can tell he's abit on edge and I noticed he was tilting his head to a side then as I've gone on today his neck is swollen on one side! It looks abit like mumps if it where on a Guinea pig. I picked him up and touched the swelling slightly and then pressed slightly and he seems to be in no pain. Their consumption of water seems fine x

Please have your boy seen by a vet promptly tomorrow, as soon as you can get an appointment. Any head tilt needs to be seen by a vet as soon as you notice. Any fast growing abscess, tumour or lymph node infection needs urgent treatment!

You should definitely take him to the vet. It could be a number of things, all of which need medical attention.

Thank you for the posts he went to the vets today had him and Elvis checked over (just to check weight and health is all which it is all good and to get their nails cut as they're indoor guineas and only exercise indoors) he just had some hey trapped in his teeth which has caused them to swell and infect he was put under with gas as he wouldn't stay still and given some antibiotics for the infection :)

Glad that it wasn't anything very serious and that he is going to hopefully recover soon!

Please see a vet promptly with any head tilts, swellings and lumps; they can come up and progress so quickly that it can be a race against time.
