Well today was the second time I have taken Toffee and Fudge into work (an elderly care home), and what a hit they are proving to be! At least 15 residents stroked or cuddled them (they loved the cuddle cups) this ranged from someone just stoking them briefly for a minute or two at most to some who were very unhappy about putting them down until I pointed out they had been cuddled for almost half an hour and probably needed to stretch their legs, and have a bite to eat and a sleep. Several of the residents that had a cuddle also hung around watching them in their playpen most of the afternoon too, and a further 9 were happy to look at them and talk to them but preferred not to actually hold them - just as well I think as I didn't want them getting overstressed. But much to my amazement Toffee and fudge took it all in their stride. I made sure they had floor time in the morning and afternoon and that they were left in their cage to rest between 12 and 2. The residents can't wait for me to take them in again, and it was a thoroughly rewarding day for me. I'm so glad I rescued them, they have so many new friends and have done wonders already brightening the lives of others. Long live Toffee and Fudge!
Sadly due to date protection etc I can not show any pictures :(

Glad that your plans have worked out and that you have been able to find a couple of rescue piggies that love being cuddled and get all the attention!

Oooooooh therapy piggies! What a lovely thing to do for those residents. Good on you Toffee & Fudge.

Sounds great, guinea pigs do make great therapy animals, even if just for their owners! So it must be great for all those residents to have some time with them, i can't think of anything more relaxing than a cuddle with a guinea pig!
