Kaspers ears are gradually turning black. As everyone knows he is a PEW. Is this normal? I have tried cleaning them and nothing happens...
At the edges or all over? And how old is he again? It's not that he's a mis marked himi coming into his markings late?
The only other reason I can think of is poor blood flow which isn't a good thing.... And would likely be at the edges and painful but would definitely need investigating.
Sounds like him markings to me but it's quite late for them to show but who knows what genes he has in his background...
Thank you for your help
I now feel like a total idiot...I have just cleaned his ear with a fragrance free baby wipe and the colour has come off. I don't bathe the pigs often as they hate it. I feel like a terrible piggy mummy now![]()

How old is he? These days, quite a number of PEWs have got a bit of himalayan in them, but often not the full complement.
Himi babies are born looking like pink eyed whites, but over the first months of their lives, paws, ears and nose go dark. They are the siamese cats of the piggy world.
My Carwyn whose dad was a stunning himalayan, just has had a smudge on the nose, for instance. His mum must have been a PEW coronet.
Ha ha, glad it was just dirt. My Sophie is a DEW and has changed colour recently, her face has gone grey to match her ears.
He is 2
At least thanks to everyone here I know if it does happen that he could just be a himi in disguise. Still feeling stupid though!
He's too old to turn himi then! It usually starts at a few weeks old. Just the plain old dirt then...![]()
