I am sick to death of earwigs dropping off the outdoor hutches when i open the doors they seem to gather on the tops of the hutch doors.

Last summer when i had my pigs outside i did not notice this. Asked some friends and they have found them the same.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Has anyone get any tips to keep them away?

arggggg i hate earwigs, they make u jump! grrrr

No i havent noticed that many this year and no sorry, no tips either! :{

i have avoided reading this post, these are my BIGGEST phobia, i am actually itching and feeling sick right now.

When i was young i have piggys and rabbits outsdie, and always when i cleaned them out, several ]....(sorry cant say it!) came running all over me all the time. I also used to keep m y pjyamas in this holder thing, and my pjs had a pocket in the top bit. I had these on for a couple of hours and all those ..... can crawling out of it all over me....i think they are horrible and i am ithcing like hell right now!

ahhh! :...:...:...:...:(:(

Yep we had a nest in the shed I put stuff down as it is under the boys Cavy Towers so they can't get at it. :)

Horrid things!e Seems to be an influx of them this year maybe its the damp weather!

Other than Gary's (snails) I hate them! I want to like snails I really do but the freak me out! :(|)

Do you have any Hydrangea plants in your garden? Apparently earwigs like tolive in those when my mom was younger they had an earwig problem and found it was due to the Hydrangea plant.

I haven't noticed any earwigs this summer now you come to mention it but in the past when I did keep guineas outside there was always earwigs hiding in the crevices near the doors. I hate them - and black beetles too - my daughter noticed one sat on the rug last night and me and her were chasing it round the living room at 2.15 this morning.:red It took some killing too.:{

YUK! I have just moved the hydrangea in the pot from by my piggies to behind the shed. Next to moths which are my very biggest fear, earwigs are the horridest things. x:)>>>

I haven't noticed any earwigs (touch wood) but there is sometimes slug slime in the girls bowl first thing in the morning :red

We haven't had earwigs, but sl*gs are my big phobia, they disgust me - we have glass french doors at the back, and the worst thing is when they crawl up and you see the underneath of them. OH came in last night with one on his shoe .... shudder. They are so big this year. And that revolting slime is so hard to get rid of.

They are in my outdoor hutch too! :( Don't like them at all! There was a whole nest of them under my sunflower pot, felt very very sick when I discovered it :...

Tea tree oil rubbed on top of the doors, so the piggies don't get to that, seems to help as well as baby powder sprinkled around the hutch... and rubbed onto the wood.

I have an influx of slugs and woodlice in my garden at the moment... the woodlice get into the rabbit shed and i found one with a couple of teeny tiny lice in there yesterday...

I killed them and keep everything off the floor that is not man made fibre! I have no idea why i have so many but i do have a visiting cricket that has taken to sitting on the veranda of the rabbits house...:))

Put the hutch on something

You could try putting the hutch on something like bricks of pieces of wood unless it has no floor in it. :)
