Well 'Marge' and friend are back.
Still living in a Nero 2/3 which is too small. As far as I remember they were male and female...so surely she would be pregnant by now?
Also that little brat tipped the cage up and dragged it along the floor with the guinea pigs inside :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

I'm sorry but I have to say, It's not real life! The guinea pig wont be pregnant because they are not male and female.
The guinea pigs wont live in that cage, it's a stage cage. And they can't film animals these days without proper people there to ensure he safety of the animals being filmed.

There is no need to stress over a silly soap :)

Yes but its still showing that its ok to keep male and female together, and drag the cage on its end along the floor when the 2 guinea pigs were clearly still inside!
Just giving as very very bad example of guinea pig care.

No, its not showing that its ok to do that. I'm sure at some point, some of us have had male and female in a cage togother by accident.

This wasnt an accident tho, the storyline was they had a female one..it escaped, they replaced it with an idential male one then the female came back. "oh its male" - shove it in the cage with the female!

I agree Debs - I know it's just a soap but it's the message that it gives out! People will be watching it, and think it's acceptable to use smaller cages and put a boar and a sow together without thinking about it.

I agree it is showing people it is ok to drag piggies cages along the floor when it isnt. I know its just tv but people theese days copy things they see on telly. Plus everyone has there own opinion, i think its wrongs to tell Debs shes wrong, not having a go or anything just saying O0

I never told her she was wrong. I was just saying that the guinea pigs welfare on screen isn't an issue. The Guineas are such a small part in Eastenders that no one will remember they are supposed to be male and female. I bet they wont even have them on tv again.... tbh i even forgot they had guineas on Eastenders.

Yeah but people who watch it everyday wont...and if a kid sees it and is like "Muuuuuuum can we have 2 guinea pigs" and then the next day they go and get one, get the same style cage, get 2, shove them in and drag it across the floor because "that girl on eastenders did it so it must be ok"

It does give out the wrong message to fans of the show. I was shocked to see the girl drag that cage across the floor. Dont know if anyone noticed but the girl picked one of the guinea pigs up with just one hand round its middle. :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
