Veggies cost a fortune so I'm looking into growing my own veggies, fruits and herbs for my piggies to enjoy, but I'm not sure what is easy to grow, we don't have a greenhouse also and I have no experience growing my own food so something for beginners would be great.

I'd love to grow cucumber and bell peppers mainly as we go through so many of those!

Any suggestions or reputable guides would be amazing, I would love to hear what you guys grow also... thanks in advance.

I have grown my own in past years, none this year though. Lettuce (most kinds), tomatoes, cucumber, sweetcorn, peas, carrots, beetroot plus many herbs are easy to grow.

Peppers need a greenhouse, I had success last year but this year they don't seem to be coming up! Cucumbers, my daughter had success last year with outdoor ones in a growbag.
Parsley, Corriander and other herbs are easy to grow, you could have them on a windowsill. Also lettuce grows on a windowsill, you can get some mixed type seed packs that you can just pick a few leaves and they grow on again, brilliant for piggy treats.
In the garden I grow green beans, beetroot, carrots, cabbage and cauliflower.

I definitely don't have green fingers but managed to grow some carrots last year.

I was also doing really well with cucumbers and lettuce until the lovely neighbour kids knocked the little greenhouse over. They all died after that.

I have a little plastic and metal greenhouse from Wilko. It worked surprisingly well.

I found cat-grass is easy to grow at home, even indoor. My piggies love home grown cat-grass.

Yep, we grow these mostly: lettuce, beans, spinach, kale, tomatoes, chard, beetroot, corn on the cob, cucumbers. Peppers aren't worth the effort for how much they cost.

There's a great little book in The Works for a fiver called "Grow all you can eat in 3 square feet". It gives great ideas as to what you can plant in very little space. The first year I grew veg I did it all in Poundland trugs filled with compost (bigger Wilko versions here) and just lashed together bamboo into a teepee for climbing plants (beans and cucumber).

You don't need anything fancy, though my budgeting app tells me I've spent £537 over the last 9 months doing up my garden... It's totally different though (basically just a small wild meadow before, grass hadn't been cut in 6 months... and that includes seeds and loads of compost for the raised beds! See progress here and here.

lettuce, cress and carrots are super easy to grow! I guess simple window-ledge herbs would be too!

I once grew kale but my previous piggy’s didn’t like/eat it so haven’t tried again. Herbs -parsley, thyme, sage, tarragon can all be grown outside and are winter hardy, coriander and basil does better in greenhouse or on a sunny window ledge. salad leaves are easy to grow, even little gem lettuces which they love. The quickest veg I grow is radishes, these take only 6 weeks and they can eat the leaves of these as well.

One other thing I grow for the boys and for the flowers are French marigold, they love the leaves!

If you don’t have a greenhouse you could get a relatively cheap substitute, like a pop up greenhouse with a frame and plastic covering, just don’t put it in a windy spot. Wilkinson’s sell these for about £20.

I've grown radishes, lettuce, chard, peas, tomatoes, courgettes without too much effort. Herbs as well as they dont need much space.

We grow cress, clover and coriander in seed trays and window boxes on top of the hutch. We only have a small patio garden without any lawn so the piggies get their fresh clover delivered to the hutch in a dish every day! Really easy to grow from seed in a tiny space in 2-3 weeks :)
