eating hair...?!?!?!

my little baby bore jazz man... eats my hair...?!?!?!
he'll sit on my shoulder and munch my hair....
obviously i dont let him do it... he always gives it a good try though....
none of my other piggies do this... does anyone elses...?
i know in some animals it can mean they are deficient in certain vitamins or illness if they eat there fur... do you think this could be why...?
or does he just like the taste of my hair...

Some of my piggies try to eat my hair too. It seems to be a common thing. The worst one for eating hair was my first hairless piggy. Maybe he thought he'd grow some by doing that! :))

My boys try this, the girls I havn't let near haha. Unfortunatley Bolvar progressed from chewing hair to nibbling my necklace and left me with a bruise the little monkey!
 
My Pippa likes hair rolleyes I found out the hard way when leaning into her cage one day she took a huge chunk of hair... right from the front too! :red :(|)
 
My piggie loves to nibble on my hair as well. He's so persistent sometimes he does succeed in getting some of it. :o
 
My Patch does this too. He's such a little pest. He'll climb up round the back of my neck and chew the underneath of my hair. I try to not let him do it but sometimes he's very sneaky and alternates it with licking my neck or ear so I don't think he's being naughty.
 
Sweets used to do that but with some very firm NO's on my part he has stopped... either that or I have just learned to keep my hair out of his face lol

All my boys like to sit on my shoulders - it can get very crowded up there :))

They ALL love munching on my hair and one (not sure which!) managed to lop quite a bit off! Oooooops! :))
 
Yes, mine both do.They eat my hair (well, try) and nibble on each other. they seem to enjoy this when the other is doing it, but our Ian has pulled out a little streak right under Henry's eye and he now looks like someone punched him:o I was told by a vet piggies do that at times and I shall not separate them unless it becomes violent. So as long as they are happy with each other I think I ll just have to treat it as "whatever floats their boat"...rolleyes
 
Lord Bernie did have the lovliest and longest sideburns - they are now nicely short - and completely equal either side.

After reading the barbering thing I can only assume the girls do the job when snuggled up with him and he just sits and takes it - like a lone boy amongst the girls should :))

It's a shame they don't trim his fringe - would save me a job with the scissors ;)

My baby boar does it too. He likes to sit behind my neck and suck my hair. he chews it then licks my neck. He also likes to pull my earrings... he is such a menace!
