ok i propably sound paranoid and piggie mad but does it mean anything if piggies suddenly eat lots of hay, more than they usually do? its the normal hay so nothing special, last night their hay thingy was full and when i came down this morning it was totally empty (they never do that) and they were wheeking at me.
ive refilled it and they have spent a lot of time eating hay today. they have eaten normal food and are acting normal but i was just wondering if the are ill and eating so much hay to clear their tummies like other animals do with grass.
sorry if I'm just being paranoid!inbreeding

I was wondering if you may have changed thier hay and they are finding this one particularly tasty and tempting.

no its wilkinsons hay which isnt exactly good stuff, they have had and last nights and todays were from different bags

Is there any other change in behaviour? It's weird they are both doing it!

Have you been starving them :))!

i dont think id get away with starving them.
mac wheeking at me this morning was strange as they know the morning routine, they know i come into the room say good morning, then go off to sort breakfasts out and its the second time i enter that they know to wheek and its usually Rascal who does

they have eaten normally, acted normally and right now they are flat out asleep with eyes closed

mine are eating more hay than usual too and not eating as many pellets and it is not great hay i was just thinking maybe this batch was better tasting than normal.... other than that mine are acting normal

Hello it doesnt help but my 2 seem to be eating more hay and pellets than normal to.

I don't think you need to be worried - piggies sometimes suddenly stuff themselves on one food and ignore it at other times.

i think their going to grow either that or you got some really tasty hay
i've just change to some different hay & oliver & jake have eaten the lot xx

I find there can be a huge difference between batches of the same brand and type of hay. Some batches will be much sweeter, which woudl encourage them to eat more. Some would be more stalky or 'bland' which they may ignore more.

I bet they'll have each gained an extra 100g by the time you next weigh them. :))
