My two piggies are about to turn six months tomorow. But they LOVE eating and chewing the newspaper section of the bedding(under). I HATE IT. They are doing it as I type this. Ugh. If you can please send ideas. Thanks. Another thread will be up to. But in different category. =D

How about changing their bedding to towels and fleece? It is nice and cosy for them. :)

It may be that they don't have enough hay? Try to give them fresh hay instead to distract them. A little paper won't hurt but make sure if it's newspaper it's the type where the print doesn't come off :)

Thanks. My sister and I thought so too. I'm gonna make sure it stays filled with plenty and change to towels and fleece, and or recycled bedding.

Piggy RIP did this all the time - he got loads of hay and veggies every day - i think he loved the noise it made and he loved making the tearing noise :(|):) he ripped newspaper to shreds - this was during floortime when newspaper was used for his toileting - he would sit there and rip rip rip then popcorned and ripped again.

I was lying on the floor reading a book whilst Piggy was running around and he came and sat right on my book and ripped it - I laughed sooooo much.

Another time I had plain A4 sheets of paper and i just put it down for few seconds and instantly Piggy came over and started ripping LOL LOL we also played gentle tug of war where he would take a piece of paper in his teeth and I would gently pull ..... then let him pull....... then I would pull back and it was like mini tug of war LOL LOL

He loved it but I always let him win hehehehe :))

my girlies love to burrow underneath newspapers meant for toileting on during floortime - they love making tunnels and running through in and out its such fun watching them :(|)

Ours do it as well. They have hay in there, they have veggies and their dry food but I think it's their hobby.
Btw, just towels or fleece doesn't work with the young ones. They don't leave it lying spread in the cages, they somehow manage to turn the fleeces into a heap in one corner and cuddle up in or under it.

I'm not sure how that would work - the cages are made from wood and the only option of securing the fleece would be a pin and I'd be too worried about them having a pin in their cage.

We live in Germany. I'll ask my bf if he knows where we can find them here. Or we'll have to wait until we go to England in winter.
