Okay random naughty piggy Hugo has taken to nibbling the Christmas tree! Is this okay for him as he seems to sneak up on nibble a little bit he is like a ninja tree eater! :)

I don't know for sure, but I think maybe it would be an idea if you could put something round the tree so he can't get to it. It would be awful if it made him poorly.

Kenny is the same, he has "undecorated" the cage - the Christmas stickers and paper chains I put on the outside have all been chewed. Everytime I look at him, he runs off. Then when he thinks I'm not looking, he goes back for another nibble.

The sap in coniferous trees has a strong antibacterial/antifungal chemical complex, which if consumed in any amount may strip poor piggy of his gut flora temporarily (he will replenish it if he eats other piggy's poopies).. but if they eat his it could spread the problem. I would also be careful of the toxic effect of such a sap.. it may burn his tongue/lips slowly even if he is not swallowing.

I would put a barrier up around the tree! haha.. sorry to be a scrooge! rolleyes
