EC in rabbits, can guinea pigs catch it?

I have a rabbit right now that has just devloped a head tilt this morning I have a vet appointment at 3pm and am gonna ask for antibiotics, panacur and metacam. Hopefully it's just an ear infection and will clear up, but I'm really scared it will be EC and my other animals will catch it

are your other guinea pigs or rabbits near by?

if so there is a chance they could, its best to disenfect everything the rabbit has been in or near and move the rabbit away from all animals, treatment is 28+ days of panacur, if any other animal is housed with it then if it is EC this they need treating too. x

also its poss an ear infection!

as the rabbit gone funny on its back end? and falling over?

The rabbit was in with others, but is now inside. The guinea pigs are in the shed because of the bad weather and haven't been near the rabbits for a few weeks, their run isn't anywhere near the rabbits so that's good. I'll try to be careful not to handle the guinea pigs and to wash my hands after touching the rabbits and all . . .

I don't know what it is but yeah he has been falling over and rolling around until he can get up His head is very tilted looking.

He got out about a week or so ago and my dogs were playing with him and chasing him, so maybe it could be trauma from that, even though it was quite a long time ago.

Or ear infection, which I hope it is . . .

Well the vet thinks it's most likely an ear infection so he's on Baytril and Metacam and I'll bring him in Monday to see how he is. He's very bright and alert and happy anyway.

I'll still be careful about handling the guinea pigs though, just in case . . .
