Ed is so smart!

So with the nice weather my pigs pretty much go outside in their runs everyday! I have taken to freezing blocks of ice for them (just use those plastic containers and then pop the giant ice cube out!) to put out on the lawn with them, to help them stay cool. Usually they just have a lick/gnaw but today Ed, being the intelligent man he is, decided hey this looks like I could get on top of it and so a new bed it became!

Here he is giving the ice a little hug -

He was getting on and off it easily, so I figure he just cools himself as he pleases, he was pushing the ladies away from it because he wanted to get on! I don't leave them unsupervised thankfully - think I'd worry too much, so as well as taking funny photos I can check he's not getting in any bother ha ha.

What a clever piggy, he knows whats good for him! I used to have a pig who liked to sit with his paws in a ice cream tub lid of cool water when it was warm.

Is he a teddy or am I wrong?

I've been giving mine those square ice pack slipped inside of two socks so they don't stick to their skin. And out of the three two of my piggies use them. Fudge uses hers as a pillow and I caught Leo dragging his cozy tunnel on top of his ice pack so he could lie on it in comfort! (He's really not as stupid as my family thinks.) Zee however won't touch them, to new and scary for my little lady.

He is a swiss! He is neutered so he lives with 2 sows now, Miffy the rex and Squidgey who is just a smooth coated agouti, you can see her back end in the right corner of the photo.

Like the sock idea, that is a good one!
