So this week we switched to a C&C cage and fleece (more on that in another post once I am over the trauma).
We have been looking at the cages in the C&C thread, and DD came to me and asked if she could make some bunting for our new C&C cage.
Me: Of course you can. That's a great idea. Let's go upstairs and look at what fabric I have.
We went upstairs and I showed her how to cut our squares to sew into triangles to make bunting.
DD: Can I use any fabric I want?
Me: Yes, just cut out about 10 squares (we made a cardboard template) and then call me when you want to start sewing.
Less than 10 minutes later DD appears, and I ask if she wants to start sewing now.
DD: No, I'm finished.
Me: What do you mean you are finished? Did you cut out the squares?
DD: No, cutting out the squares will take way to long. I have made the bunting already.
Me: How did you manage to make bunting in less than 10 minutes?
DD: I found an old fleece blanket, and just cut the trim off. See. Instant bunting. Plus Eddi loves it.
Me: That is actually quite clever. But how do you know Eddi loves it?
DD: Because when I hung it on the cage he started begging.
Me: You know he is only begging because he is secretly hoping you will feed him blueberries.
DD: No he isn't. He is begging because he wants me to make him more bunting. He loves my bunting. But I am tired now, so I will make more later. Can I give Eddi a blueberry?
I am sure DD will be happy to do a full tutorial if anyone feels it would help.
Feel free to pin
