I’m so sorry he’s not doing well. Try and get lots of syringe feed into him to get him ready if he is going to be anaesthetised for a dental, get his strength up bless him Hope you’re alright x
Thanks for the kind words everyone xx @alpacasqueak yep I'm getting as much in as I can and he's still happily eating grass too so he's getting plenty of that
His course of antibiotics finishes today so he won't have that messing up with tummy now either
Eddie has woken up fine from the anesthetic. Nathalie couldn't actually see a spur which was strange but she burred down all his teeth anyway as she thinks he's uncomfortable in his mouth generally. She thinks it's could be a case of long term/permanent pain management.
She's keeping him in this afternoon to monitor him more as he'd not long woke up when she called. Hopefully she'll call back again at some point with more news.
(Sorry for not updating over the weekend by the way, though there wasn't that much to update on other than he continued eating grass and emeraid but not hay.)
Eddie and Elvis are now back home! So happy to have my boys back
The nurse who brought them out to us wasn't actually the one who has been looking after him today but she said he's been eating and pooing fine. Strangely, she said he didn't need painkiller which is odd as Nathalie was talking about long term painkiller probably being needed. My dad is going to email Nathalie to confirm whether or not he needs it.
Since coming home he's already eaten a little hay and wheeked for veg
Nathalie has replied. It seems there was a communication issue as Nathalie herself wasn't in today. Eddie is to continue having the painkillers and we'll talk to her again in a few weeks to see how he's getting on.
Hi everyone here's a little Eddie update for you. Eddie is eating hay again now though not quite enough to maintain weight on his own yet so I'm supporting with emeraid. I was also giving him grass but I accidentally gave him too much and his poos went soft () so it's not fresh food until they sort themselves out which he's not happy about. He seems to be eating more hay today than yesterday so hopefully soon he'll be eating entirely independently.
