earlier i noticed eds looked a bit 'puffed out' and he seemed quiet. still eating, drinking and pooping as last time this happened, but seemed a bit uncomfortable.

got him out and he was quite tender underneath and i could hear the gas popping. gave gentle tummy massage and some buscopan and he lay on the settee in his little bed with me for ages, being comforted.

half an hour later, looking much better, and now he's basically back to normal. :)

he has this back in may so he seems to be sensitive in that way.

Sorry to hear Crazy Eddie is under the weather, any idea what set him off? Well worth noting down the food, we managed to figure out what caused Treacy's bloaty episodes. Give him a cuddle from us

i *think* it was the veg from this morning. we would normally have topped up yesterday and thrown the veg, but with it being bank holiday, o/h topped up today instead. the veg seemed fine when i gave it, but obviously it must have just started to go off or something. :( i feel really guilty but it did seem fine. usually i smell things a day before everyone else :)) (sniffer dog senses!) and i didn't smell anything off with the veg this morning, but i can't think what else it could be. none of the foods were gassy or new to him.

he's absolutely fine now. just watching him potter about the cage. he looks so small in there all by himself.

we did think maybe a bit of stress because earlier he seemed a bit sad again. like every so often he remembers maisie has gone and he's alone. they get that look like 'am i the only pig left in the world' kind of thing. breaks my heart.

he's chattering away at me now though so he's ok. and not long until his new friend arrives either :luv:

got up to a bright eddie bear this morning. although he became an angry eddie bear when he realised i had given only half his breakfast. but it's for his own good to make sure his tum is now settled. :)) i did make it up to him by giving him a new hay tunnel toy to play with :luv:

It's scary how quickly these things come on, glad he is feeling brighter now though.

just to say aswell, that i have been through this so many times with the others and know what to look for. i got advice from the vet for this situation and when it is ok/not ok to treat myself. i give it half an hour-an hour usually for some improvement and if none, then we head off to the vets. :)

he seems to go through phases. he will suddenly be quiet and you can see that he's lonely. it's three weeks tomorrow since maisie passed, and i really didn't want him waiting this long to be honest, but hopefully from this weekend, treacle will be here. x

I know how you feel my boy Junior is so quiet since Parker died 4 weeks ago he is like a different piggy he seems to have lost his attitude x

yeah feel so sorry for them even though he still has little Harley with him he is still grieving x

:( so sad. maisie grieved for ches for a long time, even though she had eddie with her. eddie has coped so well really. his grief seems to be healthy so he had a week of deeper sadness, then he seemed to perk up again and move out of that deeper stage. and now he's generally doing well but he has times where he does look lonely and sad. but he still has times where he is happy aswell. i can't wait to see him bonded again :luv:

not long now I bet you wont sleep the night before have you got her bedroom ready for her?

i've built her little cage for when she arrives. it's next door to eddie so they can see each other. and i'm setting up the bonding pen in the bedroon today hopefully so that will be ready. i'll be letting her settle for a day or so before bonding so she'll be in a small cage, but not for too long. they generally hide mainly when they arrive anyway. so i've got her a little box ready to hide in. x
