How's mum doing? x

AWWW - Well done Ediie!

I am so glad for you that all has gone well and mum and pups are looking great!

You can handle babies right from the beginning for short bursts of time. It would be good if you weighed them daily for the first two weeks to make sure that every pup is getting enough milk. The ideal birth weight is 70-100g and the pups should be putting on weight from 2-3 old. It can take up to day for mummy's milk bar to work, but the pups are provided for that. Make sure that they are drinking from both nipples.

You can now feed parsley, but start with easy veg like carrots, cucumber and slowly introduce the richer veg like peppers and cabbage into mummy's diet, so the pups' tender tummies won't be upset. Continue to give high vitamin C and extra calcium (i.e. alfalfa for the bones) until the pups are weaned and eating an adult diet.
