Edward Has An Hay Poke

We noticed Edwards eye was cloudy today so we had a good look and found some Hay under his lid We will be going to the vets tomorrow. I'm so worried bless him.Do Hay pokes usely clear up well?
 
I'm sure your vet will examine Edward's eye . When Max got his eye poke, the vet put some yellow drops in and had a good look. He had a small ulcer and had eye drops for a week. Fortunately, it cleared up. Best wishes for Edward.
 
They usually turn out okay. You just have to watch for an ulcer which your vet can check for. Good luck :)
 
I had 2 in a short space of time at the end of last year. Both turned out ok after prompt treatment with antibiotic drops. Poor Edward - it's very painful. I hope he has a quick recovery x
 
My piggie Hayley loves her hay so much that she constantly has it in her eyes as she buries herself in it.

She did get an ulcer from the damage caused by hay a few months ago.

We had to treat her eye for quite a few weeks and while it cleared up considerably she is left with partial blindness in that eye.

However it has not affected her in the least and as she will never have to fend for herself in the wild thank God she will still lead a happy and healthy life.
 
Been to the vets. Edward has an ulcer on his eye and is on drops 4x a day. :(
 
Oh. Well at least you know what it is and what you need to do to help him get better :nod:

My little girl Hayley hated having the drops put into her eye and ended up biting my son while he held her for me to put it in.

She seems to blame him to this day and will often bite him when he picks her up and yet I am still the best Mummy in the world :D

It's a shame for him really cause all he did was hold her while I was the one that actually put the stuff in her eye

I'm so glad Edward is cooperative. Mr Ted is amazingly good for me putting in his drops but Violet was a living nightmare when she needed them. With any luck Edward will be fully healed and back to normal very soon x

Thank you everyone. Yes it was a real worry but I'm so happy it's cleared up with out any problems :D​
