He was in liver failure and that is why he was drinking so much water and drooling.

Poor boy - at least now you know that there is nothing that you could have done apart from what you did for him.

Losing a guinea pig is always tough (I have just lost two of mine within 3 days of each other over the weekend), but it is always a relief to know that you haven't failed a beloved piggy, so you can be sad but don't have to wrestle with the nasty feelings of guilt and failure that characterise the onset of the grieving process.

Ty and it is a relief to know why he died.
 
Thanks for letting us know. It's good to have answers, horrible when you are left wondering, but you know there was nothing that you could have done.
