As some of you are probably already aware, my Eliza had dis coloured urine for just over 2 months. She also had blood in her urine on and off and an x ray showed nothing.

All I could do was take in regular urine samples to the vets as because her urine was a reddish colour, it was difficult to tell whether it contained blood or not.

Eliza has been on Septrin for the last 3 weeks and although her urine is finally a normal yellow colour, it still contained nasty bacteria and blood.

I took a sample to the vets this morning and he has just phoned with the results. The urine sample was clear and normal. Eliza can come off the antibiotics today which she will be pleased about as she hates the syringe.

He said to take in another urine sample in a month or so or before if the dis coloured urine returns.

I'm just so happy that Eliza appears to be on the mend :)

That's brilliant news hun :)

Hugs and kisses to your girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

That is good news Claire, fingers crossed that its all over for you and Eliza!

What a relief for you! Well done, Eliza - and stay well! :)):)):))

YAY fab news. Here's to Eliza staying well for a very very long time!

"fingers crossed that its all over for you and Eliza!"

I didn't realise that you both had the same problem.

It was only Eliza with the problem. I was just stressed out over it all. I mentioned to my vet about what you said about the in flamed bladder and he said that this could well have been the case. If it happens again (touch wood it will not) he said he will prescribe an anti inflammatory so thank you for giving me that piece of advise :)

I'm sure AP is only too eager to listen to your own medical problems when the piggy ones run out! :))

Way to go Eliza! I'm so glad your little princess has been given the all clear. What a time you have had with worrying yourself. I'm sure Eliza will be thrilled with no more antibiotics.

Thank you :) She will be thrilled. She had the last dose tonight and is now snuggled up in the hutch with Eleanor. I'm so pleased that I don't have to drag her out of bed at 6.15 am to give her the meds before going to work :) She can have a lie in tomorrow x

Great news! :)

Can I please ask if you've been giving Eliza probiotics? It's just that probiotics make my UTI girls so much worse. I just suddenly wondered if that was the case with Eliza.

I must admit, I haven't been giving her probiotics with the septrin as she already got stressed out with the syringe. I did do with baytril though
