Ellen has IC but she has been fine for the last 8 months.

I noticed her squeaking slightly whilst weeing last week so I upped her cystease thinking she could be having an IC flare.

She started weeing blood on Saturday and I noticed she has lost weight. So I rang my vet on Monday who asked to see her that morning.

Poor Ellen has yet another uti and it's breaking my heart hearing her cry when she's wees, she was also uncomfortable on examination of the bladder :(

Sadly Ellen can't have metacam as it sends her glucose levels through the roof so I'm to see if the septrin kicks in over the next couple of days but if she's still squeaky on Thursday, my vet will look in to giving her something else painkiller wise. She's thankfully friendly with Sarah from Cheshire pets and has no problem contacting her for advise.

Please send your healing vibes for Ellen. She's back at the vets next Monday xx

Poor Ellen and poor you. Sending Ellen loads of healing vibes and hugs to you both.
Peanut sends Ellen hugs too, he had squeeky wees a few weeks ago and sends his sympathy.

I am sending Ellen copious hugs from me and my 3 ladies who have all had more than their fair share of squeaky weed this year, too. Xx

So Ellen was back at the vets yesterday.

She's no longer uncomfortable on examination of her baldder, the squeaky pees have reduced and she only had a trace of blood in her urine.

I'm to keep her on the septrin for another week and drop a urine sample in to the vets next week.

Please keep your fingers crossed otherwise it's back to basics of sending a sample off to the lab for testing xx

Pleased that she is starting to feel more comfy Claire. Obviously all the healing vibes and the Septrim worked.

Fingers are crossed for you! Hope she gets better soon poor little one- it's horrible knowing they are poorly and not being able to fix them straight away. At least you have a good vet who is doing their best to make her well again - ❤ x my two boys also send lots of love!

Poor Ellen, I get UTI's often too so I know how uncomfortable they are, hope she continues to feel better and some more healing vibes are being sent

I am pleased to hear Ellen is improving, we are sending more healing vibes. Wishing her a speedy complete recovery.

I have taken a urine sample to the vets today and Ellen still has blood in her urine :( The vet is therefore going to send a urine sample off to the lab to see if she needs a different antibiotic :( xx

Is she better in herself Claire? It might be just some residual inflammation x

So I have just received the results from Ellen's urine culture. It has come back completely clear and they couldn't grow anything!

So, the cheeky monkey has just cost me a fortune for a urine culture for no reason. But at least I know now that Septrin works for her. It's a good job I love her causing me all this stress:)

Awe little monkey :D
It’s good news everything is clear! :luv:x

So, I had to take another urine sample to the vets today. Ny vet span it down and Ellen still has a trace of blood but nothing else.

I am to give her a daily dose of metacam for a week to see if it clears and take another sample next Friday.

Could this be her IC or something else? My vet isn't concerned

Ellen has had her urine checked again. Since giving her a dose of metacm daily for the last week, she now only has a trace of blood in her urine so I am to keep giving her a daily dose of metacam along with her cystease.
