My youngest Pig elliot had had problems with his leg since day 1 he is struggling to put weight on it he still gets around the cage perfectly still runs around so i was not overly concerned i did take him to the vets when he was 3 weeks old the vet said in a litter of more than 2 there will be a problem with one of the pigs especially in there first litter and the best thing i could do was moniter it for a 8 weeks and then take him back.its not 8 weeks yet but I'm really concerned as before he was putting weight on it a little.Ive been watching him closely and he hasnt been on it for the last 3 days now.I'm taking him to a differnet vets tonight to get a second opinion and just wonderd if any of you lovely lot have had this problem before and what did you do to rectify it.

Sorry to hear this, I know LisaJazz found that some of Dolly pigs little ones had weak legs, probably because they were part of a large litter.

How old is Elliot now?

The other thing I can think of which such mobility problems is vitamin/mineral deficiency; giving additional Vit C each day won't hurt.

elliot is coming upto 8 weeks now.The vet gave me some vitamin drops for all the babys just incase. The vet just said last night that its normal which is a shame and also a relief at the same time.he said not to worry about it untill the pig shows pain or discomfort and be very carefull of fighting in there cage as the other pigs will see this as a weakness.apart from that i gues its like a disabled human you gotta look past the problem and let them enjoy themselves.
