Emergency boarding...again.

We're on our way to TEAS Northampton at the moment. Cookie seems to have abscess leaking from her closed wound. Well it was leaking a few weeks ago but it doesn't smell bad like now and her weight is down again (she is around 1100g + for a week now and has gone back down to 1080g, but she is still eating). Prince seems to have tooth problems still but he was fine since giving him metacam for a couple of days now and weight has gone back up to 1098g from 1042g a few days ago. So off we go to Debbie today instead of to the boarding we booked them weeks ago. 🙄

Did I forget to mention that we are going to America tomorrow morning for 2 weeks? Yeah, my piggies are a pain in the bum whenever we go for a holiday. 🤦

Don't they always pull those stunts at the worst time possible? Very glad that Debbie is able to step in and take them to see Simon for you.

I am just trying to sort out my huge headache with Llawen, who has been expelled from her group (including her sister). Until January she was living with a sow she knew from old and got on well, but sadly Heini died very unexpectedly and Llawen promptly went into a full blown gut stasis the day before Llelo came off his post-op neutering watch...
Of course this new upset had to happen the week after my bereaved Nye has happily bonded with Hyfryd and Hirael, leaving me rather hanging in the air. AND we are off on a booked mini-break in two days' time, too, so I have to find a solution very quickly as Llawen is not doing well on her own at all, but also isn't an easy bonder! She is one of the 2016 Bracknell piggies, which was one of the worst large rescues in recent years, and it shows in their behaviour. :mal:
 
God, why do they give us this headache in a very short notice?! We thought we would be fine this time around. Well Cookie thought otherwise! To be honest, we never had a holiday that is worry free. :td:

Hope your Llawen will be sorted. They obviously know "mummy and daddy will have a holiday away so let's not let them forget about us". It's not very nice worrying all throughout the holiday. I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy the break much. 😞

Thank you! Apart from my family visits (which are not exactly a restful holiday), it's the first real holiday in well over a year after we had to cancel everything last year because of my hub's health issues. :(

I fully sympathise with you!
 
Thanks @VickiA . She is still eating but obviously not as much as yesterday since her weight is down a bit. But I already noticed a few days ago that her front teeth is starting to slant a bit, so it might be an abscess since there are still liquid leaking from her wound.
 
I cant agree more on bad timing. Like i said before, Dot fell sick a week before our wedding day 😣

Any mods that see my edit will laugh 👍

Aw, they’ll be in the best of hands with Debbie, things like this always happen before you go on holiday x try not to worry and have a wonderful time x
 
Well it's a good thing we took the piggies to Debbie. She took Cookie to Simon and he said her bottom incisor was swollen and the abscess was leaking from there and into the mouth too. The area where the big abscess was removed a few weeks ago was also swollen. So Simon needed to remove the tooth yesterday morning and put Cookie in Zithromax again. Debbie said Cookie ate her tea yesterday after having the operation and if needed to be syringe fed, then that's what would be done.

Whew! Thank goodness for Debbie and Simon!
 
So sorry completely missed this with so much going on @anyar.dris, hope you’re ok and enjoying hol even though sure piggies on your mind! Cookie was doing so well and you’ve all been through so much! Really hope she will carry on improving with Debbie now Simon’s taken the tooth out xx

Great news she’s looking happy :)
