Hello all!joined this forum because I am DESPERATE for advice! Our guinea pig squeaks loudly as he poops then we see drops of blood. He is still eating and drinking as normal.

The blood makes it a serious issue

Does he need to be kept separate from the other Guinea pig?

Conflicted because I have to go to work and won't make it home t
No. There is no need to separate even if it is an infection. Even if it was an infection then your other piggy is already exposed so separating would be too late in any event.
Piggies are better off to stay together.
That is true.Makes sense.

No. There is no need to separate in this case.
Even if it was caused by a contagious illness then your other piggy is already exposed so separating would be too late in any event.

Thank you

If you need to go to work have you someone who could take him to the vet? He really does need to see a vet.
Sadly no
But will be taking him immediately I am done
It has been a hard decision 😣😞

Is it possible to take a few hours off work this morning to get him seen.
I understand that it isn't always easy, but if your boy is ill and in pain then it is also important he is seen as soon as possible.
It may also be a blockage which its treatable but urgent but until you see a vet you have no way of knowing.
