Emergency Syringe Feeder Needed In York

Please help if you can!
My baby boy Junior is quite ill. We believe he has dental troubles and are in the process of arranging for him to see Debbie and Simon in Northampton very soon. For the last 3 days we've managed to get some food into him, but tomorrow I will be at work all afternoon (from 11:30am until around 7:30pm) and my fiancé is very certain he won't be able to feed him. He has tried tonight and both man and pig have got very stressed out, pig was wriggly and man couldn't get syringe in. He doesn't have much experience holding piggies up/gripping their heads in place and is very nervous about the right amount of pressure. He is feeling very under pressure and is shouting at me because he feels guilty and can't help - he loves Junior so very much. He only told me this 20 minutes ago, so I am grasping at straws right now.
I am DESPERATE to find someone who can feed my boy for one day. We have a hospital hutch and all the supplies needed to feed him, he is low maintenance and such a sweet natured chap. I can't see him not get any food for all that time, he isn't eating or drinking for himself and it could undo all the work we've done :( :( :(

Will / can he eat softened pellets/critical care food off of a spoon or saucer?
Would save everyone getting stressed but still get food in, sorry just grasping at straws with you here :(

Tell your other half it's like having a whole raw egg in his hand,use about the right amount of pressure that the shell won't break.
I'm sure Junior would shout & let him know if its too much pressure.:eek:
little & often is the way to go generally :)

He won't eat off a spoon or eat anything for himself. He couldn't even get 3mls into him last night, which is very scary. And we have to be a bit more forceful with him as he is very very wriggly.
 
Thanks everyone. With the amount of feeding we got yesterday he's gained weight for the first time but is still very slight at 856g.
 
if you can't find anyone, you can have him admitted to the vets for the day and they will regularly syringe feed him for you. i've heard of others having to to do this because they would be at work all day. they just drop them off in the morning and collect them in the evening.

i know it isn't ideal but better than him having no food. x
 
I hope that you can find somebody or can find a vet clinic who will do it for you. You have to be pretty tough with a very ill piggy and have to feed more often (like every hour or two round the clock) if you struggle to get food into an unwilling piggy. The fact that he is very wiggly means at least that he still has enough energy left and that his body has not started to close down. ;)
 
Thank you everyone. We were able to find a way on Sunday and today I am not out for long before he is taking the Piggy Train to see Uncle Simon this afternoon.
 
I'm so glad you got this sorted. I hope his appointment with Simon went well.
