Emergency vet trip :(

Sadly it doesn't look like my little man will be with us for much longer. He now cannot hold himself up at all and is really struggling to breathe, taking gasping breaths every couple of seconds. I am trying to get through to the out of hours vet, but I think all I can do is make him comfortable.

Casper didn't make it everyone. He was curled up in my arms right until the end, and he must have known it was time to go. At least he isn't suffering any more :(

You did everything you could. Sadly a stroke is a stroke and it might be kinder for him to be at peace.

I'm so sorry that you've lost your beautiful boy, Casper stole my heart the moment I saw him. Big hugs from all of the piggles here and me.

Thank you everyone. My heart is breaking more every minute, it hurt so much to see him like that. I love him to pieces and just wish that I could have done more to get him back to health :(

Have a real good cry, don't hold back, and don't feel any shame, just let go and bawl your eyes out! This sounds like strange advice, when most people say be brave, or don't cry, you'll only upset yourself, I disagree.
The measure of any living creature is how much they were loved, and it sounds to me as if Casper was loved VERY much, so have a good cry for him, he deserves it, he was important enough for you to grieve for him, its not weakness, its the strength to show how much he was loved 8...8...
Then dry your eyes and blow your nose, you can grieve guilt free, you did EVERYTHING you could for him, and you made him feel loved in his last moments, no piggie or any other creature could ask for more.

Rest in Peace Casper, the pain will ease Mummy.x
