We had a lovely day here and the piggies got out in their run. I have an apex style ( triangle roof ) run and getting them back out at the end of their grazing time can take ages. Today it took 20 mins to get piggie number 1 out . When I went back to get piggie number 2 he was standing waiting at the wee door to be collected ! mallethead ..... Any tips ? Treats etc don't work to trick them out and they are so FAST! I think I might need to buy a new run next year !

I've tried the tunnel but they are so fast they zoom through before I've got the chance to block one end with my hand! I've not tried a cosy ! That might trick them ...... If it is sunny tomorrow I will try that! The nonsense is that when I manage to catch one the other one just waits until I get back to collect him ! They must know what they are up to ! Thanks for your idea piggyfan .:)

You can train them to come into a small padded cardboard box with a little treat at the end. That way, you have only got one end to guard. It may take a bit of time, but it is worth it.

For my Llewelyn, I used an upturned pigloo with tea towel pegged over the top.

These days, I am using a wicker waste paper basket held sideways, so I can shift 2-3 piggies in one go. But then, I have got a lot more piggies shift!

I like your padded upside down pig loo idea Wiebke ! Pegs are a great idea to make a roof . I hope it is sunny tomorrow so I can try out ideas !

I too had this problem, same style apex run until I extended it. However, I started to leave the run door open inserting their carry case Into the door with some fleece inside and a bit of cucumber, they can't resist the smell! Left it there for a few mins then went back to find them all inside, I then did this several times singing "piggy train" over and over again. Now when I go out, I literally turn the run on its side, having put the carry case nearest to their hidey place in the run and bingo, they all hop in whilst me still singing piggy train!
I thought that if I can train a pig not to bite then why not train them to do other things, they are clever little things. Good luck.

I don't even have to bribe my piggies, I simply put the steps up to their hutch, open the pen and they walk back to their hutch and climb in. Job's a good 'in. ;)

I also use their carry case. Just put in in one corner, say 'home time' and they all run in! Zip up door and off we go! Takes about 10 seconds lol!

I use the carry case too, I have a cat carrier with an opening door. I open door and herd them in. Takes about a minute if they being tricky :))

So whose neighbours think they are crazy?...what with all the herding of the herds? Lol

As I was taking Floss and Jack (avatar) out today and talking to Jack, I said, "goodness whose a big lumpy boy now?"...
My neighbour said, you talking about Steve again Lil? (Steve is the husband) good job were good buddies!

haha that made me chuckle. My neighbors must think i'm mad when my girls are in the run- having me sit by the run chatting to them for ages :P

Mine hop into their carrier straight away. It used to take ages to try and catch them, and they got stressed, whereas now it takes no time at all and they stay relaxed.

I had success bringing in the frisky guineas today ! I Caught them in a wee cosy ! My problem with the carry case is that they sneak up the side of it and it is too big to get out of the apex! The real problem is the badly designed run I have! I don't think the wee guys will have too many garden times before the colder weather hits ! Maybe Santa will bring them a new run . Thanks everyone for taking the time to give me ideas .

This did make me laugh ! My neighbours must have seen me crawling around the outside of the apex run for 20 mins saying nutty things to the guineas !
