End of the guinea pig era!

Hi everyone,

Sadly we’ve lost 2/3 of our oldies in the last few months so made the difficult decision to send our last piggies Tessie off to guinea pig retirement home to live out her old age playing bingo with her new friends!

This means I’m looking to sell/pass on lots of guinea pig items and I was wondering where best to do this?

For reference, I have a 6ft Chartwell single story hutch (used for a few months last summer), Cosy Kavee cage liners, fleece beds/tunnels/sleeping bags, guinea pig bunk bed, many cage grids, etc.

Other than Facebook marketplace, does anyone else know of where would be good to advertise these items?

You can sell things on hereThe Big Boss sold some items a while ago, if not how about Vinted? 💕
 
So sorry for your losses and that you have decided to end your guinea pig journey.
I’m sure it was a very difficult decision to make.
If you are anywhere near a rescue they may be willing to take some of your stuff.

She has gone to a lovely lady with a herd of older guinea pigs! She’s been sending lovely updates which has been so lovely and eased some of the guilt!
 
I am very sorry for your losses and that you have decided to end your guinea pig journey but you made the right decision for Tessie.

I was in the same position when I was left with just Esme but wasn’t in a position to carry on the guinea pig cycle. She went to live with Wiebke and is now enjoying her retirement with new friends. It’s hard and I still feel guilty but I know I made the right decision for Esme.

I hope you stick around. Although I know longer have guinea pigs, I still visit here regularly to get my guinea pig fix x

It sounds lovely, I love it when I get updates on the guineas we've fostered. One of our foster boys Harris went to a lovely forum member on here and I love seeing how he's doing 💙
I know it's natural to feel guilty but you have done what is best for her 🥰

How lovely that you get updates on how she’s doing ❤️
@Phoebe-PP You could always pass those things onto a rescue
Either for them to use or to raise funds for the rescue
