Junior Guinea Pig
Hi All,
I need help please! My vet gave me enrocare to treat my guinea pig Boh's abscess. It's 25mg/ml and he said to give 0.5ml twice a day. I just administered the first dose but then read the package leaflet and got a shock because it says the correct dose for rabbits and rodents is 0.2ml per kg bodyweight orally diluted in water! Boh weighs around 1.3kg. Also, it says "The undiluted veterinary medicinal product is strongly alkaline and, therefore, to avoid caustic effects, it is essential to dilute the product with at least 4 parts water prior to administration." My vet didn't say anything about diluting it first! Could it have been pre-diluted by him? It's a sticky, watery liquid and Boh thinks it's disgusting. So worried I gave him too much and because it's Sunday, I can't call my vet before tomorrow! It's an exotics hospital so I assume they know what they're doing but worried the vet may have forgotten to tell me to dilute it?
