Guys, I don't know if there could possibly be a way to save my Pipi, but please help if you can. Pipi is a 4 year old skinny boy (normal weight 680g - 700g). He had an abscess and a massive oedema from neck to belly. According to the vet, the oedema was caused by infection resulted from abscess. Had baytril for 2 weeks and washed his abscess opening every day as per vet's instructions, didn't work. Pus kept coming out and Oedema kept coming back. All liquid drained from his chest was clear liquid, no colour. Then he was put on a different antibiotic which cured the abscess after ONE dose, no more pus since then, but 2 hours later he stopped running, eating and pooping, went to facing a corner of his cage. We went back to the vet, who insisted I continue giving antibiotic. I didn't. Have seen 2 other vets since then, Pipi was diagnosed antibiotic induced enterotoxemia. Neither thought they could save him, given how bad the enterotoxemia is and other infections in his body. They also said he wouldn't survive any operation, as he is too skinny and weak. Suggestions were to put him to sleep, but I refused - I might be wrong, but I won't give up. Pipi hasn't given up yet, he's very cooperative when taking medicine. No further medication prescribed. Vet honestly thought Pipi would have no more than a few days left and any further medication/operation would be a waste of money and efforts for me, and more painful experience for Pipi. Since then, I syringe fed Pipi grass smoothie for a day before Oxbow Critical Care was delivered, then syringe fed CC for a day, also syringe fed some water with Beaphar Tummy Care mixed in. No observable improvement. Pipe has been facing the corner since taking that antibiotic. He was standing yesterday and the day before, looked like he wouldn't want his belly on the floor. But this morning, he had his whole body on the floor. When I made him stand up, he was a bit wobbly, obviously not having enough strength in his legs. He is also not taking syringe fed food and water very well today, not chewing, not swallowing. It's been 2.5 days since he stopped pooping. He could till pee but not poop. A large dark red thing in the shape of a small grape (looks like his bladder, definitely an organ attached inside) slipped out of his anus and then got back in (then came out, then got back in, again and again). It's so big and is blocking the channel (I think). I tried to force move it a bit but absolutely no chance of even seeing any poop, not to say getting any out.

I know that moment may be coming. But I don't want to give up. Posting this just to try my luck and see if anyone can tell me anything else I can possibly try to save Pipi. I'm not going to take him to another vet. He was so scared every time he went to vet. I don't want him to leave in fear. Also I lost confidence in what vets can do in this situation.

Any suggestion welcome, no matter how radical or untested. Thanks guys. Situation can't get worse than it already is.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get to reply to this. What a dreadful thing to have happened. However, from what you are describing I really think the kindest thing would be to let the little guy go. I know this isn't going to be what you want to hear, but he sounds too poorly to get better. x
