Hi Everyone,
So not only do I have a guinea with suspected sinusitis/URI (vet appointment today to find out), I also have a new baby Teddy Guinea pig who I think has Entropion, I'm just wondering whether there are any home remedies I can do such as bathing the eye/plucking eyelashes etc?

Jess.

I have only come across this in spaniels and a small op was needed to keep the eyelid from turning inwards. Trimming the lashes makes them sharp and causes more trouble . See a vet asap.,or the eye may become infected and the piggie could lose the eye.

It's very common in rex/teddy types when they're born. How old is the pig? Generally the lid stops curling in as they grow.

I think one of my girls has this. I have looked it up on the net and she has the inturned eyelashes like she has no proper bottom eye lid on both her eyes. She is currently being treated for an eye infection, but there is no discharge, it just looks like she has been crying. Vet said that the first course of treatment is to treat it as an eye infection, then the next step is surgery to correct the eyelids. Bless her, she is only 8 weeks old. I would love to hear how you get on, keep us posted x

Hi Glynis, yes, I have a piggie with sore eyes and a piggie with fungal. What with the baths, cream and eyedrops, I think i might open my own vets practice!

I'll start my own thread about the eye problem as I think it may be worse than I though....
