I have just found a hard pea sized lump on Erika's hip :( It doesn't bother her when touched and doesn't feel attached to anything.

I am at the vets later next week with Eliza and Enoch so I will take her along as well to have it checked (unless it grows in size / changes at all).

Ena used to be plagued with fatty lumps but Erika's feels harder. Erin had a similar thing on her side that the vet decided to leave until it grew bigger and it was then lanced and drained. That was a cyst.

Given its location and feel, I am wondering if this is a cyst too especially since it feels like Erin's did.

If it was an abscess, would it feel hot to touch and be uncomfortable for her?
Any ideas?

It's more likely to be some kind of cyst; sebaceous cysts are quite common. Most often, they are kept under watch unless they grow.

Porche has had one on her shoulder for over a year now and it's never bothered her. Best to get it checked though, good luck!

Sounds like what one of my rescues Fudge had, turned out to be a cyst which fell off when the vet looked at it. Fingers crossed when it goes ok at vets :)

Thank you for the replies.

On closer inspection, I am leaning towards a fatty lump as it is moving around just under the surface of her skin, either that or a cyst.

I'm not too concerned as it feels like what I have felt before and it is only tiny. It is most definitely not an internal nasty tumour.

But I will be having her checked anyway just to be sure
