Well yesterday on my travels I went to a pet shop fairly locally to pick up some guinea treats for Willow&Tutti so me being me I went to check out the fluffies and I came across two rabbits and three guinea pigs in the same slightly to small cage......I was fumeing they were in such good condition and the guinea pigs adored the rabbits and visa versa but one accidental kick and they could be killed no matter how much the rabbits love them:... But because i'm a young piggy mum so I couldn't really kick up but this concerns me so much?/

Sorry for the rant.....but no one else really gets my concerns heremallethead

I understand, it's wrong and it's frustrating.
What you can do is contact your local council and ask to speak to the person who issues the licenses for pet shops. If they're unavailable, get their name and email address if possible.
I did this last october, same situation too. Luckily for me the guy at my council was really interested in what I had to say and carried out an inspection the following week. The petshop reckoned they were being victamised (rolleyes) obviously not the first complaint! and things would change. I sent my contact a lot of info on why the animals needed certain housing requirements and why they should not live together, theres some info on the rspca website if you want to quote it.
My point of view is that the petshops, as much as we dont often like them, have a responsibility to the public to set an example. If a genuinely clueless person walks in who wants to start keeping pets, sees this, then they're going to think its ok because the shop do it. And THAT is not acceptable in my book.
So I would call the council and get the relevant details and take it from their, you never know what you could achieve.
I returned to my local petshop and things hadnt changed so I reported them again and it turns out they have had a few complaints and they're now having their license revoked.
Good luck :)

Just showed my mum this message and we are considering doing so thanks ever so much and it must be good knowing you've stopped them!:(|)
