Well i received the extra attatchment to my pen this morning to make it larger. Carl my lovely crested boar has always had the habbit of trying to climb up and over but he has never managed as i normally distract him pretty quick. Well today my sows were out in the run at the same time as the boys, no fights at all, not even a little nudge from any of them. The meeting went very well and Lenny took a little shine too my little rex amy and they sat cuddling while my carl and leela went running around everywhere. The next thing I know if Leela is climbing up and is gone................. the pens made for guinea pigs so they cant escape didin't work. It was then a made panic to find her and I finally got her out from under my recling chair. She is tiny but already she is driving me crazy. It is definatly the crested breed that are totally hyper and crazy becasue her and my boar drive me up the wall. Wouldn't change them for the world

Soo if you have one of these pens watch them all the time.

I'd be totally livid! With the company (not the piggy)! That's really quite dangerous when you think about it. Your piggy was found and was OK but others may not be so lucky.

the pen is 26cm high and there was nothing in it that they could stand on to climb up onto. Yeh the boars are neutured. the poor thing was scared dont think she knew what was going on. My other piggies just sat there wondering where she went.

I have the same problem with my piggies escaping at floortime. I currently use http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages/pens_fencing/14521 to fence off an area for them to run about in but they have worked out how to open the separate fencing pieces and go running back to their cage trying to get back in again. So either they don't like being out or they totally love their cage.

Thats what i have but i got it from somewhere else. She just jumped over it. She is now trying to escape from the cage. She is driving me crazy and I have only had her since yesterday. xx

I bought 2 packs of those and Timmy jumped straight over them so they are now just sitting in my cupboard 98)
I think they are designed for hamsters really :-\

I have some netting i think i will peg down round the top so they can run around but not jump out, not letting it go to waste. x

Mine have tried to jump over it but have never quite managed it - think Daisy is just so determined to escape that she found out how to open them up. My 2 are driving me mad escaping from it - I have my cats trained not to go in that area when the girls are out but if they escape the cats usually go about following them and although I'm pretty positive that they would never harm them you can never be 100% certain. Its making floortime very stressful! I've tried barricading the girls into the pen too but they still manage to escape - they're certainly clever little things! ;D

I've got the Zooplus hamster pen and I've never had any porblems with escaping-I think its because they love the extra space so much! :)

Its my crested piggies that try and escape all the time...... my others are great. I am sure its the breed, they are just so hyper. anyone else got a crested with this problem? x

My Perus (bless them!) jump straight out of my pen which is similar to yours. Luckily they can't really go anywhere! None of the others have ever even thought about jumping over...

O no! i hope you've found him. mine have escaped loads of times and its a long time before i can catch them again! ;D try making your own cages.

i was planning to this weekend but other things means it's been out on hold. It will need to pretty high at the sides.

Dylan escaped from his pen once by climbing over the top of it, we had to buy a bigger pen >:D

just bought material today that i will peg round the edges of the pen so she cant get out. Will need to make sure the catch we build is tall enough that she wont get out. x

Mine eat netting so I opted for a normal rabbit run, big for garden and one that folds for indoors then it has a roof.

I have them from pets at home, local farm that does supplies and zooplus online, am rushing out but will try and do links when i get back
