New Born Pup
The loss of my first piggy Bub has inspired me to join this wonderful community for support and closure. It’s taken me awhile to work up the courage to post anything on the rainbow bridge….due to denial most likely. Clarity does not come easily with grief as we all know. Bub died abruptly a week ago due to GDV. I miss him with every fiber of my being and have still have difficulty processing what happened. The grief is oceanic. He was the bossiest little bean and drove his brother nuts, but loved whole- heartedly and tremendously. The loss is truly unbearable, but what is grief if not love persevering? I am exceedingly grateful for this safe haven….this community of people who understand how monumental our love for these creatures can be, and how devastating the loss is. I hope this quote will bring even the smallest measure of solace to anyone suffering from the same pain of loss:
“May tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollection bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought...
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side
When memory paints in colors true,
The happy hours that belonged to you.”
