Hi
I don't think i'm really asking for advice, just want to talk about clover & hope i'm doing the right thing. We're spoiling her for the weekend & then i think it will be her last vets appointment on monday.
She is almost 7 1/2 and has been having ongoing kidney troubles for at least 6 months. 2 weeks ago, she had hemorrhagic cystitis which we have been treating with anti-biotic injections everyday. Yesterday, the vet gave her the baytril orally and by the evening she was really poorly again. She has a small harmless lump on her bum, which gets sore on and off from the urine. 2 days ago the sore came back with avengence & despite bathing & using dermisol cream, it's just getting worse. However gentle i am, it hurts her a lot for me to clean it.
She is really off her food (apart from hay, which is strange.. i don't know why she isn't eating vege?) & has gone quite thin.
When they put them to sleep, can you go in with them? and another query... my mum thought i was being silly but in all seriousness. I'm worried she will get upset when they put her in the box to make her sleepy. Do you think it's a silly idea to put her in an open top plastic box for a minute or so, every now and then (obv not that often!) to be used to it. When i first put her in her box in the morning to go to the vets, she always starts digging at the corner... i'm worried she's be the same. Does anyone know how quickly after being put in the box, they go to sleep?
I just hope i can leave the vet straight afterwards, i think i'm going to be a bit of a mess
