I've started a charity pot at home, and am saving money in lots of little ways but I hope it will add up

E.g - instead of paying £5 to put my car through the car wash - I did it myself with a bucket and a sponge- £5 in the pot!

Instead of buying sandwiches at work I make packed lunch - £2.50 in the pot!

Only little bits and pieces but I thought it might be a good way of making the pennies count

that is a great idea......think of the money you will save in a month...

i was thinking of a 50p pot the other day, when me and mark get 50p's in our change to put them in a pot......guinea pig and the parrots treats money.

When I was little we did a thing at school where you had to fill a smartie tube with 20ps - it was quite a few pounds once full!

Am thinking of other ways to fundraise, I'm never going to be a marathon runner but I have started running with my dogs and hope to do a sponsored run sometime this year. The dogs like it anyway!

I've a penny pot I put all my copper in it and come Christmas it is worth £250.00! My Nan does the same for the girls, I should like Christmas because I always have money because of all the copper saved but I hate it! ;D

Yes we have an old quality street bottle, we put our 1p's and 2p's in for our daughter and when we go on holiday to our caravan it is her amusements money

We are big savers we have are piggy money box which we put nothing smaller then 50p in if my hubby does a disco he will put so much in we try and put a quid a day in only been doing it since christmas and have £75, then we have a 5p jar and then a coppers jar I always do my saving stamps as well so we don't have to worry about the food bill at christmas. I always rob my sisters dog and go running with her on a sunday I love it. x

The machines at Asda are handy they take 7.5p in every pound but saves you counting it out and going to the PO in seperate bags! :)

I put my coppers and 5p's in tins - unfortunately I never save them long enough to huge amounts of money. They usually get to around £10 and then I'm cashing them in at Asda. Used to hand them into the bank but they just scrunch their face at you now so I stopped going.

I put all my big coin value in a container and once a month i bank it usually get 70-80 dollars and then from this i've given the kids money and used it for chrissy presents. My next project is to have 500 dollars for Scott by September, no probs i've got over 300 already, i want to help Dee as she wants to go to South Africa so should be able to give her a couple of hundred as well O0 O0 O0 O0 O0
Good on you love, it is really satisfying to know you've saved some money O0

Yeah! What is that "face thing" they do at banks these days? :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: They make me feel they're doing me a favour by me paying money into my bank account! 98)

We have money boxes for all coins apart from 50p - hence never any cash in my purse ;D ;D ;D

This really came in handy Chrimbo 2006 after my OH had an accident and was off work - we'd saved over £1,200 in our pots! ;D

me and OH have a £2 tin, a tin for any notes and a bottle for anything less than £2. i cant wait to count it :D

We do this for AYME (association of young people with M.E.) as i have M.E. and AYME really is a lifeline to us they do so much, and membership and services are completely free :o :smitten: It's amazing how much you can save! Great Idea :smitten:

I want to do this. I usually just save my money and buy random stuff I don't really need..I'm going to get a tub or something and save up..yeah.
