So why we are house sitting we have our piggy cages in the same room we sleep in as it’s a big open plan lounge/dining room, as well as all the other piggies.. and baby peacock.. no we don’t get much sleep lol!
Every morning around 5 or 6am I am awoken by a one of the 9 guinea pigs doing very fast laps of there cage, skidding through the tube, darting around the corners, crashing into their hideout and repeating it all for about 20 minutes! I assumed it was the guinea pig family (mum and 2 pups)-rescues!- as the babies are always full of energy. But today I decided to check it out and to my surprise it’s Opal! Opal and olive are such quiet and shy little pigs I’d never dream of it being either of them! Opal has recovered very well since I rescued her so I’m gathering she is just feeling very well, happy and full of energy :))

Piggy zoomies are just the best.
Our baby Harry (not yet 1) does them pretty regularly, but Eddi (now almost 3 years old) has a mad 5 minutes every morning around 6:30.
It is such a joy to see, and it sounds like your girl Opal is feeling very happy.

Yeah, reminds me of when a cat has a spaz-out moment and does the same thing. My sow herd does it from time to time, and they look SO silly doing it. Longer cages seem to encourage them to run.

Both mine have the odd ' mad half hour ' as I call it when they go zoomie crazy! I love it!
