I'm just really excited, so I thought I'd share! Everything has arrived, and I figured I'd make a post about all the stuff with pictures! I've accrued a lot at this point, it's just sitting all over my room xD

First up, General Supplies! They're all siting above my bed right now for the most part. This includes a kitchen scale, zip ties, detergent, a wash bag, Young GP food(unfortunately they were out of adult at the store), some small Rosewood items, mesh for cat/baby proofing, and more!

Next, food, food, more food! All the fun stuff. I've got two 20lb tubs of Hay, Orchard and Oat:

We took these pictures while transferring the hay from cardboard to totes at night under a floodlight, so the hay looks very strange xD It's super great smelling stuff, I adore it. To go with the hay, I also got Timothy Cubes!

Next up of course are every Guinea's favourite- Treats! Well, sorta. Treats and chews made of hays, grasses, and wood!

We've got organic apple sticks, seagrass braids, and a variety of hay twists and fidget sticks! It's cool stuff, and they come in a variety of flavours so I can figure out what exactly my pigs like, and what they don't.

And finally, the moment of great excitement: The cage!

I gave it a mock set up with some of the things I have, minus stuff for the half loft of course. Not pictured is a lap pad in the Northern Lights Fleece as well, and a fiberglass mesh+bungee cord lid. I tried pulling on it as hard as I could and it barely began to even bend, so I'm assured of it's abilities now! :lol!:

I'm hoping to get this cage made Thursday night, with my lovely S.O., AKA the Unknowing Piggy Servant-to-be! *evil laughter* He's a bit better with wire cutters than I am, and he'll be helping me assemble the loft+put together the pegboard cuts I got to widen my desk and shelf "stand". As soon as it's all set up, I'll be sure to post pictures!

Wow- some amazing stuff there. Cannot wait to see your cage all made up. I bet you are even more excited for their arrival now! Love the northern lights fleece stuff too 👍

How very exciting! Me being me didn't prepare at all for my piggies. I'd had them in the past so still had the cage and a few other bits (not many) and once we had agreed as a family that they would be great pets, just went and got them before OH could change his mind! Muddled along for a bit then got into the swing of things.

I am indeed very excited! I'm so tempted to make the cage all on my own tonight, but I must resist in the spirit of memory making! Thank you both for replying, I really appreciate you guys responding to so many of my posts!

I've been saving and planning for so long, it feels good to finally be able to see the fruits of it. I knew a wanted a small pet or lizard/snake in April of 2019, but it wasn't until July I started saving and researching, and not until December I committed to guinea pigs. They were in a very close race with getting a corn snake for personal reasons actually, but I decided I want to wait for a snake until I change jobs to something more suited to an ESA companion.

I put I think like... 34, 35% of my guinea pig budget into food. Since that's so much of their enrichment, I didn't really bother much with any other toys.

It's been great getting to know you & very exciting to follow your piggies journey even though they haven't even arrived yet! Your enthusiasm is great 😊. I actually came off twitter recently because its so negative and I'm not on facebook either so its been very nice for me to have pleasant & fun conversations on a forum like this with people from all over the world, especially about piggies & craft ...whats not to like!? X

Thank you so much for the compliment. This forum really is a special place, full of amazing people. I don't talk a lot, but I do browse through the forums frequently.

I don't have social media so I can't quite relate, but I think it's amazing you're looking to find more positive situations and areas to involve yourself in. Keep doing what's best for you and your happiness :luv:
