I can’t quite believe it. But it’s true, Evie has today left the building after a short sudden battle with bloat. She was, in true Evie fashion, brave to the last. I’m heartbroken.
Oh no Vicki I'm so sorry... piggies are so fragile when we least expect it, the sudden losses that come from nowhere and catch us off guard are a huge shock. Sending hugs x
Oh Vicki my heart sank when I saw the title of this post.
I always had a huge soft spot for her, as you know of my love for the fiesta (nippy!) girls.
She really did have the best possible life once she joined your herd.
I bet the whole of the rainbow bridge know that Evie has arrived!
I am so very sorry that you have lost Evie so unexpectedly.
Severe killing bloat out of the blue - as I know myself only too well - has a nightmare quality that leaves you totally shaken, as if your piggy and you have been run over by goods train suddenly hurtling at you at full speed while you can hardly move.
Please be kind with yourself in the coming days and keep in mind that you have given Evie the best of lives and the huge gift of allowing her to develop her big personality to the fullest.
We can never choose the end; we can only try make it as short as possible if it is not a nice one.
Oh Vicky, I am so very sorry to read that you lost Evie.
She was such a lovely, feisty piggy.
She had a wonderful life with you.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.
Holding you in my heart
