I had my 2 guinea pigs for 3 week and have been giving them carrot, lettuce dandelion, tomato daily as I know they like these but I'd like to introduce them to some different fruit and veg but aren't sure what else I should give them or if there are any that I shouldn't give them as I wouldn't want to upset there belllies. I'd appreciate it if any one could help.

if you go to the food section there is a huge list of fruit and veg you can feed, it is all listed in the guinea pig shopping list.

they shouldnt really be having lettuce or tomato on a daily basis, tomato can cause sores around the lips..what kind of lettuce are you feeding, never feed them iceburg.

I give mine lettuce 2x a day and he is doing great! sometimes gets green chin but doing great! I give him green leaf, red leaf and romaine. I alternate between those three. Try a strawberry and some kale. Someone who has a piggie recommended to me strawberries, I tried it but Shadow just turned his nose up at it twice. I don't know maybe yours might like it, Spinach is good too, just a little though, alfalfa and timothy hay, any leafy green veggies provided that they are dark in color, no iceberg lettuce. I give my piggy little carrots and I also put Vitamin C in his water since guinea pigs cannot manufacture that on their own. it needs to be supplied in their diet, not too much though too much isn;t good either
hope this helps. Good luck with your piggies! post pics if you can.

lots o' piggy hugs

they shouldnt need vitamin drops in their water if they are recieving the right diet, their diet needs a variety of 3-4 diff veggies per day, mine get cabbage, kale, peppers, babycorn, cucumber, celery, grass, dandelions, carrots, pea pods, mangetout, brocolli, and once a week or less they get apple, tomatoes, bananna, grapes, orange

none of my 7 have ever had drops in their water, and have always had a good level of vit c and good health, its all down to providing enough of what they need through fresh food :)
