Hello!
I was just wondering whether baby guinea pigs are allowed these nuggets!?
The guinea pigs are 3 months old.
I did go into my Pets @ Home as the guinea pigs used to be on Gerty Guinea Pig but there where only picking out the favourite things that they liked, I asked whether they were okay for them and they said yes! but too only give them 60g of them, is this right!?

60g is quite a bit anyway! I feed mine those pellets amongst others. However, I prefer to vary as over the years I have ended up not being able to get the brand they were on on occasion, so I do not want the piggies being too particular.

The general rule for feeding pellets is: topped up bowl for young growing guinea pigs. Once they have most of their size from 6-9 months old and their growth rate is slowing down, you start reducing the pellets slowly until they have reached maturity at 12-15 months old. Then you feed them 1/2 -1 handful of pellets per piggy per day. Please be aware that the guidelines on the pellet bags recommend a lot less veg; they push feeding more pellets instead.

The biggest part of a good diet should be good quality hay, up to 80% of the daily intake; you can feed different varieties (except calcium rich alfalfa) - like us, piggies enjoy variation.

Ca. 50g/1 cupful of mixed veg per piggy per day (ideally include one vitamin C rich veg in that mix).

Fresh water daily.

i feed my girls on that brand, and i've never had any problems with it. as Wiebke says, plenty of hay, water, and veg!
