Boris, my 1 year old male has always had slightly flakey skin but I pinned that on the fact that I was struggling to treat Hay Lice on him, however they've been gone for quite some time now and his dandruff is worse then ever.

It's very hard to notice in his fur as he is pure white, so I can only tell when he's being stroked and the flakes collect on the material he's sitting on at his bottom, when he shakes himself (you can see flakes fly off) and on my younger male, Badger, who gets the flakes on him when they're close (he's black).

He isn't itchy normally, only when I scratch a certain part of his back when he will try to bite that area himself. His skin isn't red, with no signs of the skin peeling when I part his hair and there's no hair loss or scabbing.

It was worse then ever today after I bathed them both due to a running lice scare :(

Does this sound like a fungal infection to anyone who has had experience in that area? Or just sensitive skin?

Thank you!

Would be interested to here myself if anyone has any suggestions, so I will bump this up.
I would now be inclined to think fungal especially if the coat has a greasy texture.

i would go back to the vets to rule out mites and fungal. my ches had fungal with no redness or greasy hair so it's still a possibility. if that is all ruled out i would look at bedding that could be drying out his skin, aswell as checking washing powder etc, which could be causing dryness. x

My Eliza has flaky skin but she has done for about 3 years now. She was treated for mites and fungal by my vets just in case but these were ruled out so it is always worth while seeking vet advise.
