Poor Princess has been drinking more and more of late and the last 24hours she's drank quite an excessive amount... The bottle isn't leaking and she's drinking from the bowl as well as the bottle, I decided to weigh a day early given the sudden increase last week she was up 41g this week she's down around 60, she is on long term metacam, I will call the vet as soon as they open tomorrow and step in with offering recovery food, she's still doing zoomies so I'm hoping it's nothing serious but I know it's best to get it checked! Does anyone have any experience with anything similar? Been at a and e with my 1 year old all day I think it's one of those weekends! 🤦‍♀️ For reference I filled water bottles and bowls before bed woke up and both ps were empty, refilled went to hospital came back bottle was empty and bowl almost empty 😰

She has a frozen bottle in a blanket to snuggle if she's hot but she's not really interested in it so i don't think it's the heat!

The most you can do now, is just hope for the best. I would see f she is still eating and drinking on her own, and if not step in with the syringe. My two boys just went to the vet, so I understand your struggle. The waiting part is the worst.

Sending hugs and good wishes!

Thanks she is still eating and she's drinking excessively, it's the excessively drinking part that is worrying me!

She seems to have settled down today! How strange wonder if she just thought I'll scare the hooman today yesterday 😂

Always best to check with the vet, but our piggy Jezzy floof (age at least 3 we think) also drinks a lot (we switched to a 600ml rabbit bottle in Jezzy's favorite drinking spot as the water wasnt lasting through a day at work, even though there are 3 bottles in total!) and she has some fairly big weight fluctuations, she can go up or down about 60g or occasionally 80g in a week sometimes, also she's had unexplained fur loss, sore feet, crusty nipples... she's been to the vet loads (at least once a month for something or other!) and has been tested for everything and she's just like that! A big old crusty eccentric floofball... she's not diabetic, her kidneys work fine, not got ovarian cysts, no contagious skin diseases, good teeth, always lovely gut sounds and perfect poops... is Princess your rescue piggy? I think sometimes they are just a bit different, I've panicked over Jezzy repeatedly for over a year now, but she's a happy healthy daft old floof, just won't ever be quite as healthy as she might have been if she'd had good care from the start...

I expect the vet will be considering thyroid or kidney issue. But sometimes if they have sore throat or URI or OTI that can also also make them drink far more.
Please let us know how you get on at the vets.
