Toby is almost ready for his second Ivermectin treatment. I've noticed him drinking an awful lot more is this cause of the mites? And there is sometimes a weird rumbling from his belly he gets upset tummys really easily from fruit and veg so I need to keep them to as much as a minimum as possible he gets as much as he can handle, (which is an alright amount dw!) He always eats hay but I think he should eat more dried food in his bowl. He's currently on Supa Guinea pig Excel .

Any ideas?

Mites isn't caused by drinking, some pigs do drink a lot perhaps mention it to the vet when he goes back. It could be bordeom seeing as he is a lone pig at the moment.

Tummy rumbling - pigs can get bloat so be careful with gassy foods such as cabbage. If he is prone to tummy problems I would give smaller portions of veg 3 times a day. One of my Sows Fleur blows up like a balloon with gassy veg so I have to watch her but avoiding cabbage or only giving it sometimes is how I work around it.

Good luck at the vets!

Thanks Sunshine your a star lol You see I never know the right portion to give him daily you know? I just know how much he can handle if that makes sense. What do you give Fluer daily?

Well she lives with 6 other sows so what I do is give each pig 1 green leaf, half inch of 2 veggies like celery, carrots etc, a couple of baby corn/green beans etc, 1/8th green pepper and I do this three times a day changing it for the evening meal.

My boys I give twice a day as that suits them. :)
