Yesterday i ordered my boys a new C&C cage! it's the 2x4 grid one, so roughly 10.5 sq ft. that's the exciting part lol... however i am nervous because i ordered the cage because OH and i are moving back down to my parents house for the summer, and while they have no problem with us having pigs there, there is also 4 murderous cats. The cage i got has an open top, and the website offers information on how to make a top for it, which will be a must! I'm afraid that the cats will give my poor boys a heart attack or harass them all day (we are also gonna make every effort possible so the pigs will never see them, but I'm sure the cats will smell them and try to find them...and accidents do happen). ugh i just want my lovies to be safe. does anybody have any experience or suggestions with kitty proofing the cage, and has anybody had experiences (good or bad) with cats and pigs?
Also it's a 2 hour car trip, and the car will be packed to the ceiling bc we're moving all our stuff (and pigs) home. Any suggestions for a safe travel experience? we have 2 commerical size cages, and while they are unbearably small, especially for 3 pigs, i dont really have another option.

Well you can keep them in a separate room and not let the cats there. Also maybe cover the side that can be seen by the cats with fleece. I'm not experienced with this but I hope this helps!
