I'm expecting 3 new additions to our family tomorrow from dan2sl (Danielle) and I am really excited about meeting them. I am sad too though as its an upsetting thing for Danielle to do and I know how much its going to break her heart when she leaves here tomorrow :(

I can understand where you are coming from but at least Danielle will be able to have regular updates from you about how the piggies are x

it is really sad but at least Danielle doesnt have to worry about you being a good home or giving them proper care, and also to get regular updates is something alot of people wish for but cant have well done to you for taking these babies and being so understanding with keeping in contact with the original owner xxxxxx

It is truly heartbreaking, but at least Danielle will still be albe to stay in contact with her piggies - having found the best possible home AND an undestanding new owner for her loved ones.

Hopefully the fact that she is not losing them all at once will help her a bit. It would be awful to have to return to an empty and silent home... At least this way, she can have a good cuddle and a cry into some fur when she comes back home!

I wish both of you the best for the handover and the piggies a good start - you are such a lucky lady; they are so lovely!

I am so glad she still has 2 of them like you say Vicky and hope she can keep them with her.
Thank you for your lovely replies. I will put pigtures on when they have settled in :)

Thank you to everyone :-)

It is true I am going to be very sad, but I am happy for my babies that they are going to such a lovely home!

I am lucky to have my other two and I do hope to be able to keep them but I know I will have to think about it and do what is right for them. I'm just glad to still have them for now!

I am getting a bit anxious, I'm hoping it wont be too hot in the car for the piggies on their long journey and really hoping that they get on with Jools' other piggies and dont freak out or terrorise them! (excuse my spelling!)

Also Jools' piggies always look so clean and well groomed, I'm thinking mine will look like little scruffbags in comparison! lol! they have never had a bath but may need one!

Xx

Aw hun dont worry, if certain ones dont get on together I will rearrange to suit. If all else fails then will just divide the cage into 2 segments but I'm sure they will get on. I am purposely putting yours with my 3 most relaxed piggies and not my grumpy ones so I think it will all work out just lovely :)
As for my clean groomed piggies, they just take good pigtures ;) xx

A tip for the trip: feed them well before you set off, so they are drowsy during the trip. Talk to them occasionally. They will find the sound of your voice reassuring. They like a dark, confined space best. Make sure it's not going all over the place if you have to stop suddenly.

Some piggies squash into the smallest space possible, so there might be some squeaking, as none would budge even a millimetre! If you're not driving, you can sit next to them and give them reassurance with little cuddles.

All the best for the transfer! With some of their toys they will feel quickly at home as their territoy smell will go with them.

Thank you so much for the advice :-) I was wondering if I should bring any of their houses etc as I know Jools has lots of lovely things ready for them, but I definitely will bring some of their stuff now if it will make them feel more at home.

Also I was thinking about putting them into separate pet carriers so they have more room but maybe they will be reassured by being all together in smaller space.

I was wondering if i should stop half way to see if they need a drink? the journey should be 2 and a half hours at the most.

Thanks again xx

I would keep them altogether for the journey so that they feel safe and can cuddle up to each other. I haven't taken Eleanor back to Nottingham yet but the few times I took Connie and Eliza, they stayed with each other throughout the journey and cuddled up to each other. x
