well as some already know we are off to get roddy another friend tomorrow (hopefully) now the day is closer I'm starting to feel excited at the thought of another piggy, but I also feel sad about beanie as I'd much rather have him back. Pointless post really but felt the need to write it?!

That's completely understandable, the new pig will never replace him and will find their own special place in your heart, as corny as that sounds.

Dating a bereaved piggy is always an emotionally very mixed undertaking.

Don't feel pressured that you have to love the new pig straight away. The newbie will be for Roddie while you grieve for Beanie in your own human time. You will come to love him - in a very different way to Beanie - when you are ready for a new commitment and probably without you realising that it is already happening.

Each piggy and each bond is unique; no piggy ever takes over from another. I still miss all of mine that are at the Rainbow Bridge, never mind the lovely piggies I have living with me now!

It's completely natural to feel like this. I hope you find your Roddy a friend, all paws crossed for you! :)

Yeah I can relate to that......:hug:Good luck with finding a friend for Roddy. You'll fall in love with the newby - he'll never be a replacement, but he'll be a new piggy to find a place in your heart x

Thank you for all your kind words.. It must be 3-4 weeks (maybe more) since beanie, I wasn't planning on any more piggies but recently I decided I want to for roddy. I do feel excitement now but still sadness. I also feel worried poor roddy won't get along with any at the rescue, so everything crossed for my special boy!
