I have to share as I am very excited!
It's my birthday on the 2nd April (couple weeks away) and I'm going to be 21. So my mum asks me yesterday what I want. I've known what I want for a while. The look on her face was shock.
Most 21 year olds would want something fancy, jewellery, big party etc... I want... a shed! I want a nice roomy shed to convert into a piggy house. I plan to insulate it, floor it and heat it. I'm not decided on what housing to put in it, so any suggestions would be great. I was originally thinking C&C but then I'm not sure if this would be sufficient for winter, even if it is heated. So possibly hutches, but big ones as the main aim of getting a shed is so that they can have more room.

If anybody has piggy sheds please can you post pictures/explanations of what you did to it. How many pigs you have in it etc..

I asked for a shed for last Christmas... :))
Here's my shed... Bearing in mind mine has a full capacity of 60 pigs and 4 bunnies... For all the rescue pigs...and buns...

I have three 10ft hutches and 14 4ft hutches... And four 5ft by 2ft by 2ft...
All of my hutches were built separately and then stacked on top of each other...

Wowza! Did you get someone to make the hutches especially? And how did you find someone to do that as that would be ideal! Don't want to buy any from shops.

My dad made them.. Bless him...!
He's a carpenter by trade... But it's just a glorified wooden box... With a door on... What I will say is if you are building hutches... Is don't bother with hinges and making door... Make it so you just have a panel you remove... As since my shed has settled not all of my door line up as well... :)

Most carpenters or shed places will make this sort of thing up for you... :)

Fantastic present! Just the sort of thing I would ask for! Most of my family was shocked when my husband bought me a rotary washing line for my birthday.... I was over the moon! xx>>>
 
Hehe my birthday was on wednesday and I got a new cage from hubby and a bale of hay from best mate lol
 
That is an AWESOME present..so cool.

My presents seem to consist of Guinea Pig relate dthing snow..mum got me a Steiff piggy the other week, a TY Piggie the other weekend and she picked me up a baby piggy vivid pet pal this morning :D
 
We have a brick built shed and I plan to create a big indoor run (for bad weather days) when my new girls have got used to their new home. I'm gathering a collection of hidey holes, plant pots and tubes for them to play in.

I'd have done it sooner but they looked so small in their cage when I brought them home last week, I thought the much bigger open space would completely terrify them! Now i plan to expand in gradually over the next month or so. Will post pics when I do.

In my mind there is a big sign over the door already saying 'Welcome to Piggie Palace' :)

By shed is 12x 8 ... :))
It's like my second home...
Who needs a holiday house when you've got a guinea pig shed... :))

Wow it's massive :))

How do you secure it? Just with bolt locks? I'm paranoid about something getting in, especially as at the moment my babies sleep in my bedroom.

The actual shed door has a beefy pad lock on... As do all of my outdoor hutches and runs... People must think I'm bonkers... :))
It literally takes up all my garden... :))
