Hi there I’m just looking for some advice I have 4 piggies in a 6x2 cage with loft I’m just wondering about them getting enough exercise… when we take them out we have them in a play pen but they will just hide.

I think they definitely feel happier and run around a lot more in their cage. I will be putting them out in the garden at some stage but feel it’s not the right weather just now and concerned about moss as we have quite a bit on our grass… I’m going to section of a big area in our living room hoping they can get more of a run about today many thanks x

You have a good sized cage so they have plenty of space to exercise in there.
Its normal for them to be wary of new spaces and not be keen on floor or playpen time. Make sure to use lots of hides in the play pen and also, if possible, cover part of it with a blanket as that can help them feel more secure.

In terms of garden run, the same applies - hides and a cover. Also ensure you build up grass time very slowly so you don’t cause upset tummies
